Diane Arbus: In The Beginning showing at Met Breur (former Whitney museum on Madison Avenue at 75th Street) on through November 27th

Nan Goldin: The Ballad of Sexual Dependency showing at MoMA through February 12th.

Nan GoldinAllow an hour for each, the Arbus are individually hung vintage prints, most of which you will not have seen before, and the Goldin is the original slide show to music.  They share a toughness, complemented by a sweet sense of poignancy.
